I figure i post some pictures of the food items they serve at Dine&Dash. The Picture quality sucks on some of them, i know. I worked there for 5 years off and on. All i can say is that there's never a dull moment, lol.
This was my final story boarding project. I thought everything was going good on this project, .....................wrong, lol. I guess that's what happens when i stay up all night drinking rockstar hoping i wouldn't miss my presentation the next day.
Awwwww....my masterpiece of the year, lol Word of advice - 1.) stick to the requirements 2.) keep it simple and 3.) don't leave it to the last minute
Why, because - 1.) If u go overboard, you're just making it harder on yourself, and u get more frustrated with every mistake u make. It's quality, not quantity. I have a hard time with that concept for some reason. lol For example - I wanted to put in another scenario (the desk clerk job, the playground supervisor job) The Third one was gonna be him as a nurse, and the Evil Knight entering a hospital room filled with other knights he previously fought and injured, then they all die from shock . 2.) Get your point across as simple as u can, whatever makes it effective and gets people to react to your work. 3.) Self explanatory - Doing 70 panels in 2 nights before the due date, fun but nerve wrecking
When it came time to present our films, I thought for sure the teacher would hate it (gore, violence, etc etc) plus the way things were going in that class as well. Don't get me wrong, I thought a lot of people's leica reels were awesome and really well done, very stylized. I guess it's true what they say, you're your own worst critic.
2 projects from our 3d modeling class. The hand project was nowhere near being finished, but the teacher already marked it, i guess when i get some free time, I'll finish it at the school. My character model of my Dark Knight was okay, I was getting annoyed with the way the character's hands turned out, but the rest of him turned out fine. I know one thing, i hate using the Maya Program at the end of the year, cause it keeps crashing. At one point, all the files i had for this Character, wouldn't open, and i sure as heck didn't want to start over again.
The video was for out final Layout Assignment of the year, the color version of my characters was for Painting Class, I was really happy how they turned out, even if i spent less than an hour altogether on it. And the first 2 pictures was for my final assignment for Character Design. The Second drawing is the beginning and the First drawing is the ending. (The Evil Knight sees the dress, wants to try in on, got caught in the act, and runs away.) Pete told me not to draw helmets, cause they don't show the facial expressions of the characters, he's right, but i was just being stubborn, creative differences, i guess. It was a toss up between the helmet or a bald guy with a beard, helmet it was.
The Background was provide fro us by Mike, out Painting Teacher. He wanted us to do 4 different scenes - Day & Night scenes in Color, Day & Night scenes in Gray Scale and a final painting.
Beak Sync Assignment, i was happy how this was turning out till i filmed and realized some of the mistakes i made. Couldn't do much when i start this assignment 2 days before the deadline.
All i can say is whoo hoo, I survived second year of animation!!!!!!! considering i took most of 2007/2008 off for personal reasons. here's hoping to a great year in third year...... (being optimistic here, lol)
the reason for this particular blog, i just wanted to say that i will be added summaries and descriptions to all the previous animations and drawings blog to clarify some things and as well to add my own opinions and such, but don't have the time right now cause it's hectic trying to get all the projects finished. anyways later.
A big project that we had to do for Pete Emslie's Character Design Class. I'm happy how the 2 knight pose Sheets turned out, I did a rush job on the Princess and the Old Dragon.
Some Character Design stuff. I got to say, looking back. Pete Emslie is a great teacher. My Character Design Projects improved assignments after assignments with all the advice and tips he gave us. Thanks Pete
I had a lot of fun working on this project for layout. I wanted to work really hard on this project because I felt all the assignments i handed in before was not up to par for me. So i wanted to spend a good amount of time on this project
Here's the thing that bugged me. I worked hard on this project, it's far from amazing or perfect, but i thought i did a decent job on it, and all i wanted was some useful criticism, that i can use for future projects and not make the same mistakes over and over. Not "I'm braggin" or "it's generic, I'll teach u style in third year" crap. What the hell am i suppose to get from that????
These are some character design Projects from second year, and some of the other pictures are drawings i used for a layout project for a Pan background animation project.
This just stuff concerning the Dairy Barn Project. The Video is a Layout Project that we had to do. I screwed this because another student gave me the wrong instructions. oh well.
The Dairy Barn Storyboard Project - that was lots of fun, lol The First Panel is actually the the Last Picture, then go up. Hopefully it will make more sense that way.
